Since High School:

Larry graduated from Notre Dame and Loyola
Medical School. He entered the US Army and
completed residencies in General and
Cardio-thoracic Surgery. He was a military surgeon in
Seoul, Korea for two years. With his wife Rebecca
and six children (1973-84), he left the Army in 1984,
and moved to Merced, CA, where they have lived
since. For over twenty years, Larry practiced
general, thoracic and vascular surgery, and last year
converted his office to full time treatment of varicose
veins (
Yosemiteveincenter.com).     For the last 15
years, he has  travelled to the Thailand-Burmese
border, where he trains medics and performs surgery
in remote jungle settings with Karen Burmese
refugees. Larry  and his wife (36 years and counting)
are enjoying their empty nest (after 30 years of kids)
and their 3 grandchildren.    Larry also enjoys magic,
and is a Magician member of the Magic Castle in
Hollywood

I have been working on the Thai-Burmese border  on
an annual basis for the past 15 years, performing
volunteer surgery, among other things.  I work
primarily with the Karen Hilltribe, and frequently cross
the border into  Burma in remote jungle areas where
the need is the greatest.    Visit

movie due out next year.   A fictionalized version of
me gets to be rescued by Rambo when a Karen
village is attacked by the Burmese Army.
