Since High School:

After graduating from Western Illinois University, I
started the Industrial Arts program at MacArthur
Middle School, in Prospect Heights, and taught there
for seven years with a really great group of people,
including Don Radlein (PTHS ’67).  I got together with
several of them for an informal reunion a few weeks
ago for the first time in almost 30 years and had a
blast.

After teaching I began a career in technical sales and
sales management, first in test and measurement
instrumentation and now manufacturing.   My career
has taken me to almost every state in the country and
I’ve been in just about every kind of facilities from steel
mills to the Johnson Space Center Mission Control
Center. I still have over a half million frequent flier
miles in spite using them for family vacations every
year.  I’m having too much fun to retire now and too
young!

I enjoy spending time with our family, working around
the house, travel and golf.  I golf as much as possible,
and am fortunate to start the past few seasons with a
trip to Phoenix for a warm up (It doesn’t help, but it is
fun).

I met my wife Janet at Western (’69 Resurrection High
School, Chicago) and have been married for 33 years,
living in Crystal Lake for the past 21.   Janet taught
Elementary Education until our girls were born and
became a stay-at-home mom until they finished middle
school, and now enjoys a career in financial services.

We have two great kids, Anne 27, Abby 24.  Both
graduated with honors from Miami University in Oxford,
Ohio, and are middle school teachers.  In addition to
teaching they both coach multiple sports.  Anne is also
working on her Masters Degree in administration.

I’m looking forward to the big reunion!
