Since High School:
After finishing graduate school (Vanderbilt
University), I returned to Palatine to begin a
teaching career that lasted until retirement in
2004. I primarily taught at Fremd where I met my
husband Mike, a math teacher, football coach,
and baseball coach. We married in 1974. I was a
Sunday School teacher and Cub Scout den
mother seemingly forever.
Now my oldest two sons, Brian and Kevin, teach
high school Special Education (one at Palatine
High School and one at New Trier). They and my
daughter-in-law (a former student of mine) are
graduates of Indiana University. She also
teaches Special Education at New Trier. My
youngest son Timothy graduated from Western
Illinois and is a recruit with the Chicago Police
Department.
Mike and I are very active in our church; we love
to travel; and we have lots of fun caring for our
grandchildren 3 days a week. Our first two
grandchildren (both Kevin's) are pictured on the
left -- Annie Noel and Jack Jarratt Loring. Since
then, we have a third in Charlotte Rose (Kevin's
as well) and we are expecting a fourth shortly
