Since High School:
I live with my wife Belinda, son Adam (14) and dog Sasha 10
minutes from downtown Des Moines, Iowa on an acre of
wooded ground adjacent to a bean/corn field. We started with
a 720 ft. bungalow and after 5 years ended with a large ranch
home.
I graduated from Drake University in 1971 with a B.A. in
business. Returned to Palatine and worked construction for 9
months before admission to the Drake MBA program. I
graduated in 1974 and worked at Drake doing accounting and
budget forecasting. Then I went into commercial real estate for
a short time then on to work for Meredith Corp., Better Homes
and Garden Real Estate Service. In 1981 I was married to
Tonya Watkins for 18 months before returning to the single
life.
In 1986 I started C. Green Contractor Inc. We are engaged in
concrete construction and many specialized projects.
I married Belinda Kauffman Sept. 20, 1986 (with much better
success this time). Adam Christopher Green was born April
26, 1993. He was a preemie and was 12 inches long and
weighed 1 lb. 8 oz. After 3 months at University of Iowa
Hospitals & Clinics (Iowa City, IA) we brought Adam home
weighing 4 lbs. Today at 14 he is almost 6 ft. tall and weighs
120 lbs. He is very athletically active and works with me as
much as possible. Belinda takes good care of us and is active
in school and service organizations.
My mother, Frances Green turned 90 in March and still resides
at 139 N. Ashland in Palatine, my boyhood home. Father, Bob
Green passed away in Feb 2001. Sister Cathi is married and
living in Arlington Heights. She and her husband Ed have 3
daughters and 1 son.
40 years have passed much quicker than I would have ever
guessed. I look forward to seeing my PTHS classmates and
enjoying some memories.
Life is good here in Des Moines.
