Since High School:
Greetings from Big Sky Country!!!
Life has been great out here in the west.
After being a business professor at
Montana State University, I retired in 1999.
My husband retired in 2003 from his
business. Since then we built a new "shop"
building here at home so Rich can play with
his antique trucks. We built a new home
about two years ago. We actually did the
ultimate recycling project: we had our old
house moved a couple miles down the road
and we built our new home on the same site!
Since retiring, I've been playing lots of
tennis, taking piano lessons, reading,
learning how to play bridge and doing lots
of work with two volunteer organizations.
I'm really active in our local SCORE chapter
and help counsel people wanting to start a
new business or who are already in
business. I'm also very active in the Family
Firm Institute, an international organization
for advisors to family businesses. Both
organizations have kept me super busy. In
fact, I wonder how I ever found the time to
work!
Besides these activities, I've been doing
some travelling. Rich and I bought a
camper and have joined the RV'ing crowd
(am I really that old???). This year we took
a trip to Colorado. Last year we went "back
East" and visited Washington, D.C., Mount
Vernon, Williamsburg, etc. etc. We've really
enjoyed those trips. I also went to Spain
last year with a girlfriend (I taught a class
for the Family Firm Institute in Barcelona).
We rented a car and did Northern Spain.
Had a super trip.
Sorry I won't be able to make it to the
reunion this year. I get back to Barrington
(where my mom now lives) fairly frequently.
Next trip will probably be this October.
If anyone ever finds themselves near
Bozeman, Montana, give me a call!!!
