Since High School:
I have never been very conventional in my
life so I figure why start now! Something
about an old horse doing tricks or
something…so here goes nuttn’.
Not all were good decisions over the last 40
years, but I have been blessed and lucky
when it was needed. Mom & Dad still living
in California recently shared their 64th
anniversary. They are truly a part of “The
Greatest Generation”.
I’m still not much for public speaking but
somehow have made a living in sales for the
last 27 years. I’ve grown to become a man
of few words and “Master of None”. Being a
man of few words and hearing that pictures
are worth a thousand words, I thought I’d
leave my bio to some photographs.
Again, being a man of few words I choose to
borrow some words of others:
Happiness is when what you think, what you say,
and what you do are in harmony.
Mahatma Gandhi (1869 - 1948)
Do or do not. There is no try.
Yoda, 'The Empire Strikes Back'
A long quotation but perhaps one of the
most profound was recently brought to my
attention by another classmate. (Mark
Brennan)
"Do not burn yourself out. Be as I am - a reluctant
enthusiast...a part time crusader, a half-hearted
fanatic. Save the other half of yourselves and your
lives for pleasure and adventure. It is not enough to
fight for the land; it is even more important to enjoy
it. While you can. While it is still there. So get out
there and hunt and fish and mess around with your
friends, ramble out yonder and explore the forests,
encounter the grizz, climb the mountains, bag the
peaks. Run the rivers, breathe deep of that yet
sweet and lucid air, sit quietly for a while and
contemplate the precious stillness, that lovely,
mysterious and awesome space. Enjoy yourselves,
keep your brain in your head and your head firmly
attached to the body, the body active and alive, and
I promise you this much: I promise you this one
sweet victory over our enemies, over those
deskbound people with their hearts in a safe
deposit box and their eyes hypnotized by desk
calculators. I promise you this: You will outlive the
bastards."
